Once the children have learnt and can recall the first set of sounds, they will bring home reading books every Friday, one will be a book linked their current phonics ability, and the other will be a reading for pleasure book, which the children can choose from the class reading area. Spending just a few minutes each evening sharing a book can instill a love of reading and help to develop your child's imagination and vocabulary.
