We have revamped our House point system this year! Our new House names are:
Hawking, Attenborough, Parks and Jemison.
Children from Year 1 to Year 6 are allocated to one of the Houses and they are able to earn house points for demonstrating our four core values of dignity, community, hope and wisdom. House points will also be awarded for super effort, perseverance, having good manners, being a good friend and setting a good example around school and the wider community.
Our houses have been named after some truly inspirational people who also link to our four core values:
Stephen Hawking was best known for being a famous theoretical physicist and cosmologist. His knowledge and wisdom knew no bounds, despite being diagnosed with the very debilitating motor neurone disease at the age of 21.
Sir David Attenborough is best known for his work on environmental causes. He believes if we all work together as one big community, we can protect our planet from the damage being caused to natural habitats and animal extinction.
Rosa Parks was an American activist in the civil rights movement. She advocated for equal rights for people of colour her whole life, as she felt everyone had a right to be treated with dignity.
Mae Jemison had hope in her heart that, one day, she would get to fly to space. In 1992, with lots of hard work, she achieved her dreams when she became the first African American woman to fly to space with the NASA Space Shuttle Endeavor.
Each House has two House Captains, who are children in KS2 that believe they can support the rest of the children in their House to achieve great things!
At the end of each half term, the House with the most house points can choose a reward to celebrate their achievements.
