Team 1

Welcome to Team 1

 2022/2023

Team 1 consists of two reception classes; Class St. Francis and Class St. Nicholas.

In Class St. Francis, Miss Crowston is the class teacher, and the learning is supported by Miss Brown, Mrs Blanchard and Mrs Smith on a Tuesday afternoon.

In Class St. Nicholas, Mrs Wilks is the class teacher, and the learning is supported by Mrs Gardner.

We work together as a unit and the children have access to activities and experiences shaped by the educational programmes and are set out under the seven areas of learning:

  • communication and language
  • physical development
  • personal, social and emotional development
  • literacy
  • mathematics
  • understanding the world
  • expressive arts and design

The Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage ..."sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe."

We keep you up-to-date with progress and development and a valuable part of this includes the use of Tapestry, an online learning journal, which provides an ongoing dialogue between home and school.  The About Me section of Tapestry is a first stepping stone in us getting to know your child and their family.

We would love to know what you're up to, you can post on our Tapestry, Facebook or Twitter pages or email your class teacher at the address below:

* IMPORTANT *

Your child has participated in the reception baseline assessment (RBA).  The purpose of the assessment is to provide the starting point for a new measure that will help parents understand how well schools support their pupils to progress between reception and year 6.

What to expect in the Early Years Foundation Stage: a guide for parents

The DfE has published a new guide for parents, which guides you through what to expect in your child's development and aligns with the new Development Matters document to help us engage with you about your child.
