Home Learning

We regularly communicate via email so please ensure that your class teacher has your correct email address.

Reading for five or ten minutes a day can make a real difference to your child’s progress.  Your child will have a book closely linked to their RWI phonics learning.  They'll read a book each week as part of their RWI sessions.  This book will then be set as an ebook for  home learning each FRIDAY, which you can access at home through the Oxford Owl website.  Each child has their own individual log in and these will have been emailed to you.  Please ask your child's class teacher if you need help with this.

The children will also bring home a 'book bag' book linked to the book they've read in school every FRIDAY.  These books MUST be returned the following FRIDAY ready to change over.  If you do not return your reading book we will not issue a new one.

Children will have Key Instant Recall Facts (KIRFs) to practise at home each term. These are the main element of the children's Maths home learning and supporting them to practise these for short periods of time everyday will greatly support them with becoming confident mathematicians.

Children can also practise their Maths learning on Numbots. Log in information should be inside your child's reading record.
